Jasper Blakeley lecture was one of the most entertaining!

I would like to say that the lecture last night was funny, interesting and informative magic. But those words in themselves go nowhere near explaining what a good night we had at North Wales Magic Circle last night. The Jasper Blakeley lecture was one of the most entertaining and the best attended we have had for some time. Thanks Jasper. Hope we see you again soon.

April 4th. It will be the Jasper Blakeley lecture

Hi, all the lecture for April 4th. It will be Jasper Blakeley. He is Magic Circle and Equity member based in Cardiff South Wales. The charge for members and affiliated magic clubs is £5 other visiting magicians £10 on the door. 7-30pm for 8pm start.
I understand that Jasper Blakeley is a full-time professional and an international award winning close up and cabaret magician. I understand that his lectures to Magic clubs are something a little different than the norm and a lot of fun! So we hope to see you at the next meeting. Jasper’s thrilled to have joined the elite group of magicians who’ve been lucky enough to grace the cover of the world’s most circulated magic publication, Magicseen. The UK-based magazine has subscribers in over 30 different countries and has more readers than GQ. Jasper was delighted to be given the prestigious cover shot along with a three thousand word interview and photo shoot spread over three double pages. In the article, Jasper, along with his alter ego Kockov, discusses his original approach to performance and conjuring.
With previous Magicseen covers featuring stars such as David Copperfield, Jasper’s proud to be in such illustrious company.

Also please remember that we have the second meeting of our young magician’s club at 6.15 for 6.30 pm start.

Our young magician’s club that we held before our March meeting went brilliantly

Our first tryout of our young magician’s club that we held before our March meeting went brilliantly.  Despite only one school having been canvassed so far, we had lots of eager kids attending,  Steve, Jay, Janet, Mike and returning member Clive, all gave a demo and a short film by Daryl was shown explaining the need for repeated practice and the importance of keeping our magic secrets. Some card work was gone into before we sent the kids home with the folder containing the first installment of our NWYMC start up info packs, a  complimentary deck of bicycle cards, and some homework to do with them  !!!
Massive thanks to Mike, Jay, Janet, Clive for there more than valuable insight into our magical world and the many avenues down which to go. and Chris and Wendy O’Brien for inspiration, ideas, and Bob for opening up early!
Here’s to the next one and hopefully many more thereafter.
GO TEAM N.W.M.C. and our new N.W.Y.M.C

Children’s and Comedy Magic Competition postponed …..

PLEASE NOTE: We have decided to postpone our Children’s and Comedy Magic Competition.  This will now not be taking place on Tuesday evening, 7th March. We have been offered the opportunity to hold an all-day event in the Summer at a local venue, which we feel would be more suited to host the competition. Please watch this space, we will keep you posted. Apologies for any inconvenience.
