My name is Jay Gatling and how did I get into magic? Well. My mother bought me a
book on card sleights and tricks and I learnt ONE trick out of it and from then on I was hooked. Ever since I have been practicing, dabbling and showing off to
friends and family. More recently I have begun to make magic into my professional career, in close-up magic I go by the title Jay Gatling Absolute Magic and as a stage illusionist, myself and my better-half and assistant Phoenix go by the title Elemental. I love magic for one thing really, the audience. When you perform something incredible you get to see an amazing sight yourself, the look of wonder and amazement on a person's face. For me it's nothing to do with the fact that you've just fooled this person, far from it. For me it's the fact that occasionally, not always, but occasionally you have just made a person believe in the impossible again, made them believe that maybe, just maybe, there's more to life than what meets the eye, and I think that's important. My mission in magic? To get people believing the impossible is possible. |
